Interlocking Patches*

To Crochet & Collect

Hi hi. I'm Steven and I make patterns for interlocking (filet) crochet motifs. They're little doodads to pin on your backpack or to do just about anything you might do with a granny square. They're pretty cute, a bit tricky to make (which is part of the fun), and most of them can be finished in an afternoon.

The animation above shows the construction of the free Clover pattern. Each motif consists of two pieces of double crochet mesh that you make together, one row and one colour at a time, working some stitches on front and others on back. It's not as hard as it sounds!

To make it easier, Interlocking Patches use a special, simplified form of notation. This is another thing to learn, but each line of notation is accompanied by a fully-illustrated diagram, so you can pick it up at your own pace and use it (or not) when you like. All patterns (including the free ones) come with detailed documentation, and you can watch a video to help you get your bearings.

Pattern Collections

Patterns for Interlocking Patches come in collections. These normally feature 10–12 motifs organized around a theme, with a mix of smaller and larger, simpler and more complex patterns.

New collections roll out every two weeks, but If there's a specific motif or collection that you'd like to see, please send me an email or tell me on Tumblr.
